Terrorism is one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. It represents one of the greatest violations of human rights and fundamental liberties and has direct effect on the exercise of all human rights, especially the right to life, liberty and security and personal integrity.
Acts of terrorism have the core objective to destabilize governments, weaken civil society, endanger citizens and jeopardize rights, liberties and guarantees. The social, moral and economic effects negatively affect all citizens.
The overall mission of the CIIC is to provide to the UNODC, MOSSAD, THE MEIR AMIT INTELLIGENCE AND TERRORISM INFORMATION CENTER of ISRAEL, and Governments, the proper and required reports, analyzes, studies and proposals for the prevention and suppression of threats or aggression against the independence or integrity of countries anywhere in the world and its institutions.
TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS
Human trafficking is a serious crime and a gross violation of human rights. Every year thousands of men, women and children fall into the "hands" of traffickers, whether in their own country or abroad.
It occurs worldwide and affects almost all countries, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is the guardian of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) and its protocols, assisting Member States in their efforts to implement the Protocol established against Crime Trafficking in Human Beings, whose main purpose is the prevention, suppression and punishment of traffickers.
Drug Trafficking = arms trafficking, prostitution, disease, socioeconomic slope, suffering and death of families.
The trafficking of drugs and weapons trafficking has become, due to globalization and tax havens, a trade that circulates large amounts of capital, using a large human workforce. Globalization has internationalized the trafficking of drugs and arms trafficking, because the contact between the criminal organizations, thus ensuring the impunity of tax havens and laundering dirty money of organized crime, drug trafficking, terrorism, trafficking in corruption and human beings in general.
ARMS TRAFFICKING
The trafficking and the improper use of firearms pose a great threat to the safety of people and social stability, representing a serious obstacle to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations. According to a report produced by UNODC in 2011, In countries with a high murder rate, one in fifty young people (men) under twenty years old, runs the risk of being murdered with firearms before completing 31 years of age.
Firearms and ammunition are key force multipliers for transnational organized crime. This is a particularly significant risk in Latin America where, in 2010, 74% of murders were carried out using a firearm while globally the percentage is 42%.
CORRUPTION
Corruption is a complex phenomenon that encompasses social, political and economic aspects, affecting all countries, without exception. Corruption undermines democratic institutions, slows economic development and contributes to governmental instability. Corruption attacks the founding bases of democratic institutions, by perverting the rule of law and creating bureaucratic quagmires whose only reason for existence is the need of bribes.
Economic growth slows down due to the indispensable "initial costs" in particular the expenses with corrupt practices, thereby discourages the direct foreign investment.
CIIC’s mission is to collect information, search for all possible existing information sources and according to the legislation, analyze, evaluate, and provide techniques and knowledge in order to obtain the identity and ways of operating of the referenced individuals as well as criminal organizations, to further inform the competent ministries or government agencies.
